Ebro was a bustling town once upon a time. Beside stores and churches, it had a post office and a depot, both of which were donated to the historical society. There were two Ebro depots; this is the second one, built sometime before 1924. This depot was a permanent building, but it was built to be a temporary building. Temporary depots were built to be small enough so it could be transported on a railroad flat car from station to station.
Inside the Ebro Depot is the Ebro Post Office. The Ebro Post Office was established in 1898 with Adolf Peterson as the first postmaster. This was until 1936 when Mrs. Harold Smith was appointed Postmistress. The Ebro Post office closed its doors in June 1975 witih Mrs. Evelyn Johnson serving as postmaster for 32 1/2 years.
