The Emmanuel congregation was organized in 1898 at John Rusten Farm. It was decided in 1900 that a church would be constructed. The church was affiliated with the American Lutheran Church until 1964 when it switched to operate as free and independent congregation. On January 1, 1968 the members merged with other Lutheran churches in Bagley and Clearbrook.
The Church was torn down in 2013 though parts of the orginal building were saved. The steeple, windows, and lights were incorperated into the Emmanuel Church Replica built at the Clearwater County History Center. Displayed inside are the orginal pews, altar, pulpit and baptismal font. This building is used to display artifacts from our county's other churches.
