This white school was built in 1936, in Itasca Township, Clearwater County. A school that's not modern by our standards but "modern" when compared to our other school!
The W.P.A (a government program during the depression that stood for, The Works Progress Administration) built this five-room schoolhouse in 1933. First, it was used by Vern school kids and was later moved to Alida, Mn for a brief time. Once Alida closed, the building was donated to the History Center.
